What is it that happens daily, appears invisible, yet is very integral to every citizen’s sense of well-being? I’d probably call it…oh…something like…it’s related to ah…say…freedom to realize one’s importance in the scheme of things. Get it? No? Well…it’s just that ole standby some people call…balance…reciprocity…justice. So, how does the notion of justice become a partner with the likes of freedom, importance, and value? Justice contains these and other virtues relative to maintaining a sense of order when chaos appears to abound. All organizations, businesses, and or governments must attain to a similar array of order if their avowed projects are to continue, let alone exist. Considering all other forms of people-gatherings, justice helps maintain a balance between what should be done, and what needs to be done to restore that balance. Without balance, or the fulcrum of justice, chaos reigns supreme, with no accountability or other efforts to keep things working efficiently and effectively.
