AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE

The American Legion Auxiliary supports various scholarship programs that benefit veterans, the descendants of veterans, and The American Legion Family. 

The Auxiliary announces the availability of its scholarships for graduating high school seniors for the Class of 2020. Applicants can only be awarded one scholarship per year. Application deadline for all scholarships is March 1, 2020. 

Unit #3 scholarship packets need to be submitted to Unit #3 or one of our Scholarship Co-Chairmen.  All other scholarship packets (Department and National level) must be submitted through an Auxiliary Unit.

Scholarship information is available from guidance counselors at all public and private high schools. American Legion Auxiliary Lincoln Unit #3 only sponsors three $500 Scholarships annually. They are only available to a student whose family member is an active member of Lincoln Unit #3, is a Lincoln resident, and plans to attend a Nebraska school of higher education. Attached.

GUIDELINES FOR SCHOLARSHIP

 

AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY UNIT #3

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION IS ATTACHED.

GUIDELINES FOR SCHOLARSHIPS


1. Applicant must be a child or dependent of the Lincoln American Legion Auxiliary

Unit #3 or a Lincoln Post #3 member or deceased member who held

membership at the time of their death.

2. Scholarship must be used for full time schooling at a Nebraska educational

institution.

3. The amount of the scholarship is $500.00. The scholarship payment will be

made directly to the selected Educational Institution. Should the candidate drop

out of school, any unused money would be returned to Lincoln Unit #3.

4. Applicant may submit an application each year during his or her post-secondary

education as long as all qualifications are met.

5. All applications and required information must be completed and mailed to

no later than MARCH 1st to be considered. No applications will be accepted

after that date.

2019 SCHOLARSHIP

EMMA FAGNANT

Emma Fagnant is our Scholarship winner for 2019-2020 year. Emma's parents are Kevin and Kim Gregg of Lincoln, Nebraska. Emma attended East High School and will attend Southeast Community College this fall. She plans to major in Criminal Justice. Post 3 member and District 15 Commander Gerry Wolf presented a $500 check to Emma at the Post 3 September meeting. Gerry is the Grandfather of Emma.  Post 3 congratulates Emma and wishes her success as she attends collage.
