SONS OF THE AMERICAN LEGION 

At our last meeting, it was discussed whether or not we needed to meet every month. It was decided that if we meet every other month, we could still accomplish the needed business. Therefore, starting in March, we will meet in odd- numbered months. 

Please see the article about the “Squadron 3 Holiday Project” elsewhere in this issue of the Lincoln Legionnaire. Our Thanksgiving and Christmas event to help out
grocery shoppers have been a huge success --- and will be 

continued. While our past efforts to buy groceries for needy families have been successful, it was sometimes difficult to get names and addresses and coordinate delivery, along with not being sure exactly what the recipients wanted or had room for. The logistics were cumbersome. 

Lincoln Squadron 3 of the SAL will proudly be sponsoring both a Cornhusker Girls State and a Cornhusker Boys State attendee. We made the selection of candidates we wish to sponsor at our last meeting. 

On a membership note, we are very close to achieving 100% of our membership goal. Thanks to all who have sent in their dues. 

I would again encourage members to attend one of our (now bi-monthly) meetings. Our meeting location is still at the American Legion Post 3 business office located in the office building at 123 South 84th Street (84th and “O”). New ideas are always welcome.
