AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY
Dear Auxiliary Members --- Hello! I hope you are safe and well. This Covid 19 has been hard on all of us being home bound, but the Auxiliary is moving along. Many conventions have been canceled, including the Department Convention in Kearney and our National Convention in Kentucky. So, along with that --- and since there will be no elections, the current Department and National officers are going to remain in office and serve a second year. Sadly, Cornhusker Girls State was canceled; and we had three girls picked to attend. These girls will receive recognition from Girls State --- a pin and certificate. We did have the District 12 convention in March --- just before the stay at-home order was issued. Cathy Day will serve as District President for her second year. I’m happy that Marilyn Johnson had sent in a Chaplain’s Prayer Book and a History Book. Marilyn received first place for the prayer book and second place for the History Book. Congratulations, Marilyn! Our Unit 3 year will begin again in September, and we would love to have you to attend a meeting with us at the Elks Club on the second Tuesday of each month. We do not meet in January, July, and August of each year. In the summer time we are busy setting up the budget for the coming year. With a budget we need your help as a Unit with your payment of your yearly Unit dues. We thank you for your support. At this writing, it appears that the social distancing requirements imposed by the pandemic will probably prevent us from meeting in June. A “COVID-19” calendar has been placed on the Post 3 website and will be updated with the current status of meetings as we go through the summer. https://lincolnpost3.org/
